Call for 2025-2026 Second Exchange Online Applications
- The applications will be active from the 21th of April 2025 – 10:00 AM
- You can apply via BUIS / ÖBİKAS.
- The applications are for only Spring 2026.
- Please visit the “Exchange Partner List (second) ” for the Exchange Placement read the "Notes, Criteria and Areas" carefully, and make your choices accordingly.
- Due to unforeseeable circumstances, quota and term information may change during the application period and can lead to loss of placement.
- Please check the Host Institutions’ application requirements beforehand as they have the right to update their requirements.
- If you would like to review your application, you should check the "Exchange Partner List (second) ” again.
- In case you change your department at Bogazici University and its timing coincides exactly with the application process, it will cause the cancellation of your placement.
- If you previously participated in an Exchange Program, you can apply again; however, 10 points will be deducted.
- You can participate in the Exchange Program maximum of 2 semesters in total, either in the same academic year or the following years at the same academic level.
- If you participate in a 1-year Exchange Program, then you will not be able to apply for Exchange Programs.
- After signing the letter of commitment, 10 points will be deducted from your next Exchange Programs application either in the same academic year or following years.
- Students updating their BUEPT (Bogazici University English Proficiency Test) results must send their updated documents to exchange-outgoing@bogazici.edu.tr at the time of application (even if they have submitted them before).
- Students who have passed the preparatory exemption exam with IELTS/TOEFL must submit their results via email to exchange-outgoing@bogazici.edu.tr at the time of application (even if they have submitted them previously).
- Universities in the UK and Switzerland are considered our Exchange partners; students who plan to go to Switzerland should get information about the grants provided by the government of the institution they are planning to go to.
- No grant will be given by Bogazici University to the Exchange applications.
- If you signed the letter of commitment for Erasmus for Spring 2026, then you are not be able to apply.
- After returning from the Exchange program, students are required to be enrolled at Bogazici University at least one more semester, excluding summer school, and will continue their education by taking courses.
- If currently you are a last-year student your academic advisor must confirm that you will continue your studies at Bogazici University for at least one semester after returning from your exchange program. You are required to send the confirmation document (on official letterhead and stamped, in Word format) or a screenshot of the confirmation email to exchange-outgoing@bogazici.edu.tr within the application period.
- A minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 for undergraduates and 3.00/4.00 for graduate students is required.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least two semesters, and graduate students must have completed at least one semester at Bogazici University (excluding English Prep. and remedial semesters).
- Prep students and 1st-year students are not eligible to apply.
- Students who were placed in the first Exchange application but lost their placement due to the Fall semester F/GPA check will have a 10-point deduction applied to their second Exchange application.
- Students placed for the Spring semester must pass an F grade and GPA check at the time specified by the commitment letter. Those failing the F grade and GPA check will be removed from the list. The Spring semester check will be conducted after the semester ends and before the summer school starts (18.06.2025).
*Undergraduate students whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.50 or who do not meet the GPA requirements of the institution they are placed will fail the F grade check. Additionally, undergraduate students with a GPA below 3.00 and at least one F grade in their transcript, or those with a GPA of 3.00 or above but multiple F grades, will also fail the F grade check.
* Graduate students whose cumulative GPA falls below 3.00 or who do not meet the GPA requirements of their assigned institution will fail the F grade check. Furthermore, graduate students with a GPA below 3.50 and at least one F grade, or those with a GPA of 3.50 or above but multiple F grades, will fail the F grade check.
