Göttingen University Digital Palaeography Summer School (10–22 August 2025)
The Digital Palaeography Summer School 2025, organized by the Institute for Digital Humanities at the University of Göttingen in collaboration with the Göttingen State and University Library and with the generous support of the Volkswagen Foundation.
The summer school is free of charge, and partial travel support is available for participants traveling from outside Europe.

This intensive program is designed for MA and PhD students, offering comprehensive training in both traditional Latin palaeography and codicology, as well as digital tools and methods applicable in these fields.
Program Highlights:
- Morning sessions: History of script and transcription practices for Latin manuscripts
- Afternoon sessions: Fragmentology, codicology, digital editing, cataloguing, TEI-XML, and hyper/multispectral imaging

Special Guest: Dr. William Duba (Fragmentarium, e-codices)
Eligibility:
Open to current MA and PhD students (or recent graduates of such programs). Applicants should have basic Latin knowledge. Previous experience in palaeography or digital humanities is not required but can be beneficial.
Accommodation:
Selected participants will be offered 13 nights of free accommodation in single rooms with kitchen facilities. Partial travel support may also be available upon request.
