Required Documents for Undergraduate Application
Applicants must upload the following documents to the online application system:
Standardized Test Score Card
One of the following exam results is required for application:
- SAT
- TR-YÖS
- GCE A Levels (see details below)
ÖSYS (YKS) Score Card
Only applicable to foreign citizens who have taken the YKS (ÖSYS) exams.
Official High School Transcript
Must be wet-signed, e-signed, or bear a QR code, showing all completed coursework and grades.
High School Diploma or Graduation Certificate
A copy of the diploma or an official letter from the high school certifying graduation.
Proof of English Proficiency (If applicable)
See details below regarding accepted exams and exemptions. All documents must be validated by YADYOK for TOEFL® and IELTS.

Applicants who do not meet any of the above exemption criteria and lack valid English proficiency scores may enroll in the English Preparatory Program at Boğaziçi University.
Statement of Purpose
A brief essay in English explaining the applicant’s motivation and academic goals.
Copy of Passport
Required for all foreign nationals.
Proof of Residency Abroad
Required for applicants who are Turkish citizens or dual nationals and completed their entire high school education abroad (except in TRNC). This includes passport entry/exit stamps or a certificate from the relevant authorities.
Copy of Blue Card (if applicable)
For those who have renounced Turkish citizenship by permission of the Ministry of Interior.
Application Fee Receipt
A non-refundable application fee of €100 (or its TL equivalent) must be submitted per program. See payment details below.
Accepted Standardized Exams
1. SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)
Applicants must submit official SAT scores sent directly to Boğaziçi University (SAT code: 0796). Scores are valid for two years.
Minimum SAT requirements by program:
- Engineering Programs: Applicants must obtain a minimum score of 700 out of 800 in the Math section, and a combined score of at least 1350 out of 1600 in the Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections.
- Programs in Mathematics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Chemistry, and Physics: A minimum score of 700 out of 800 in the Math section and a total score of at least 1300 out of 1600 in the Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections is required.
- Faculty of Education Programs: A minimum combined score of 1200 out of 1600 in the Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections is required.
- All Other Programs: Applicants must have a minimum total score of 1300 out of 1600 in the Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections.
2. TR-YÖS (Foreign Student Examination - Türkiye)
Minimum score: 450
Scores are valid for two years.
3. GCE A Levels
Applicants must receive an A grade in three subjects relevant to the program applied.
Note: Three A grades will be considered sufficient for application eligibility. However, the relevance of the subjects to the program applied for will be determined by the corresponding department during the evaluation process.
English Proficiency Requirements
As the language of instruction is English, all admitted students must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
- BUEPT (Boğaziçi University English Proficiency Test)
Administered by the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK). - TOEFL iBT
Minimum Total Score: 79
TWE (Writing): 22
TOEFL Home Edition not accepted.
- IELTS Academic
Overall Score: 6.5
Writing: 6.5
IELTS Online not accepted.
All exam scores are valid for two years.
Students not meeting the requirement will attend the English Preparatory Program at YADYOK.
Exemptions:
Applicants may be exempt from the proficiency requirement based on other criteria. Please consult YADYOK for details and obtain an official exemption confirmation.

Application Fee and Payment Instructions
Amount: €100 or the equivalent in Turkish Lira
Note: Fee must be paid separately for each program applied to. It is non-refundable and only required if the program is accepting applications and the applicant meets the minimum criteria.
